  • About International Symposium on Fusion Technology

    The International Symposium on Fusion Technology has been organized by five universities in East Asia, Dalian University of Technology (China), Hanyang University (Korea), Harbin Institute of Technology (China), Inha University (Korea), Niigata University (Japan), on the base of the academic cooperation agreements. The 1th-5th symposiums were held at Niigata University (2007), Inha University (2009), Dalian University of Technology (2011), Hanyang University (2014), and Harbin Institute of Technology (2016). The symposium covered fusion technology involving various engineering areas, and consisted of keynote, invited and contributed papers.

    Hosted by Niigata University, the 6th International Symposium on Fusion Technology (ISFT2018) will be held in Jan. 26-28, 2018, in Niigata, Japan. The ISFT2018 is especially focused on Renewable Energy, Information and Data Science, and SciTech Education as the special sessions, but not limited to these topics. Every topics related to fusion technologies will be presented in both oral and poster sessions.The special session on SciTech Education will be held in conjunction with the symposium supported by Inter-University Exchange G-DORM Project.

  • Venue & Access

    Niigata City is the main island's first ordinance-designated city on the west coast of Japan. Niigata City's transportation infrastructure is equipped with an international airport and harbor, bullet train, and a network of highways. It takes 2 hours from Tokyo Station by bullet train. Niigata City also has a rich natural environment with many bodies of water, including two large rivers, lagoons and wetlands. The fertile fields of the vast Echigo Plain produce a multitude of rice-based products and agricultural produce. You can enjoy good food and sake in the urban port city. The main venue, Niigata University, located at the west area in Niigata city, is almost 40 minutes away from the Niigata Station.
